About Heliodor Bengals

Hello, and thank you for inquiring about Heliodor Bengals. We are a small cattery whose main focus is quality and health over quantity. Please take a few moments to read our statement, as it should answer any questions that you may have about us.

All of the breeding cats in our operation are health tested by our veterinarian, as well as genetic tested through optimal selection.

Each kitten will come with three sets of FVRCP as well as worming: given at the age of 6 weeks, 9 weeks and 12 weeks. They will also be given one treatment of Frontline or Revolution at 12 weeks.

Our policy on kittens going to their new homes, in alignment with TICA recommendations, is 12 weeks of age.

Rabies vaccine recommended at 16 weeks.

Kittens can be registered through TICA. If purchasing a breeder, once the kitten has been paid in full, we will send the buyer a breeder slip(registration form). The buyer will then be free to fill out and turn in the form at their discretion. If purchasing a non-breeder, after the kitten has been transferred, the buyer will need to provide evidence showing the kitten has been spayed/neutered before the breeder slip can be obtained.

The kittens are registered as SBT (stud book tradition) Bengal, which are at least five generations removed from their wild predecessor ALC (asian leopard cat).

SBT Bengals are considered to be a fully domestic cat.

Q: Are Bengals hypoallergenic?

A: All of the research I’ve seen says yes. This is due to their unique fine pelt that requires less maintenance than other breeds. As a result, Bengals don’t groom themselves as often resulting in their coats having less allergen saliva known as Fel D1.

Bengals also have zero to minimal shedding.

But, even with all of that being said, some people still have allergic reactions to Bengals. It’s fully dependent on each individual person. The only way to be certain is to be around one.
